I’ve just come back from the welcome-back meeting with Suzanne and was very disappointed to find that, despite what we were told all last year, you won’t be doing the practical dissertation.

One of the reasons I chose the practical dissertation in the first place was because I trust your judgement and feel comfortable working with you.

If there is any way I could still work with you this year, please let me know.
